          what have people found as a better mining card? I have a 7870 , 7790, and a 7770…

          Im getting about:
          178khs with 7770
          288khs with 7870

Some reason I cant get my 7790 card to work. They work fine on GuiMiner to mine bitcoins… but cgminer or reaper crashes right away when I load them. Is my OS missing something to make them work on that system?

I don’t know if its me but I am kinda disappointed by the 7870 performance… Is the small jump to the 7950 a better bang for the buck than the 7870?

is cgminer crashing or is the card going off/sleep/idle when started?
most likely you have something wrong in your run command.
please post the cards you have in the rig and run command for cgminer here=)

                cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://pool.d2.cc:9344 -u myworker -p mypassword --worksize 256 --api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1

                    Hmm that strange.
havent used those api options before but the rest seems fine.

Try running without the api-listen and api-allow
and be sure to use myaccountname.myworker and not just myworker

also might add --auto-gpu and --auto-fan to be certain that the cards arent set to high (however i do not think this since your able to mine bit coin)

those api functions are for CGWatcher… cgminer monitoring app… It works great of my other 2 systems and I did try it without those commands and still doesn’t work

try removing worksize also. the run command is as simple as it can get, so i dont see why it should not work.
