Also as an aside if you are in the UK you can buy BTC direct from bittylicious using online banking. And we have been told they will be selling FTC before Xmas.

Unfortunately, I’m not in the UK and it is hard to find places to purchase FTC. I don’t have the equipment to mine either. =(

oh dear sorry to hear that. well there are other options so don’t loose hope.
It is possible to get money into exchanges and get FTC I think crypto-trade accepts okpay so you would have to wire funds to okpay first then move them into the exchange. As ive never done this before im not the expert so I will try and find some instructions for you. -

It may be worth trying bitstamp if your in Europe or Coinbase if your in the USA.
But it looks like you will have to buy BTC then convert to FTC :)
