CONFUSED CORNISHMAN: MAC MINING?
-
Total virgin at this, but very interested in the concept. Seems like a solid proposal. I’m in. I’ve read a fairly substantial amount of how-to’s on here but still utterly lost on how the devil to get going on a MAC. Any help? Can anyone point me at an idiot’s guide to Mac-mining? Not expecting to make oodles of money, but I’d like to participate.
Happily trade info for contemporary jazz CDs and/or cake
thank you for any assistance.

Here you go:
- Download http://spaceman.ca/cgminer/download.php?Ver=3.7.2&Type=Full
- Unzip / Unpack the file
- Open the finder, go to the dir you extracted it to
- Open Directory cgminer-3.7.2-mac-full
- Open Application “cgminer for Mac OS X”
- Command line options for a start: “–scrypt -o http://pool.maeh.org:19327/ -u YOUR_FEATHERCOIN_MINER_ADDRESS -p x”
That will get you started mining on your Mac connecting to my pool. The pool uses p2pool as pool software and thus no signup is required.
Note however, the Mac will not be the best machine to mine. You get the idea and see how it’s going, but the return in coins will be quite low.

It seems very simple but…
What does this mean: Command line options for a start:
And this: “–scrypt -o http://pool.maeh.org:19327/ -u YOUR_FEATHERCOIN_MINER_ADDRESS -p x”
Where does it go?
It doesn’t fit in the little text box that pops up on double clicking cgminer for Mac OS X.
If I put it in Terminal it says ‘command not found’.
Should the line have anything else to make it work?
Should it include all the spaces, dashes and quotation marks?
