Noob begging post - FTC Public addresses - Is there a tutorial?
-
I’ve been seeing the FTC public addresses in people’s sigs. Is there a tutorial on how to create a public FTC address? I’ve searched but can’t find anything :-\

Thanks zerodrama. I was hoping to set up the public/private key FTC address. I know there’s a public FTC address you can put out there without revealing the address generated by the client. But you do raise an interesting point. Are people using addresses straight from their client? Funnily enough, it never occurred to me that people were using addresses straight from their clients (security etc). DOH!

The address in your client is a public address. The client does not show the private address. No one can use your client public address to take money out. They can only send to it.

Ah, ok thanks.
I thought you had to import a private key into the wallet that’s linked with a public address that you can share so that your wallet’s real address isn’t revealed. You can get the keys at sites likehttps://www.bitaddress.org. I’m still learning here so forgive me if I’m getting this completely wrong.
