Have the sync bar but wallet out of sync

Hello and hi to everyone…
complete novice here… I have downloaded the wallet… i am mining on my own… might not be a wise choice.
I want to understand when and how will i recieve coins as my wallet say out of sync?Please excuse my lack of knowledge. is it normal for the server port usename and password fields to be blank?
Any advice wouldb be gratefully recieved thankyou -
Welcome kimmienine. You definitely don’t want to be solo mining. You should take a look at this, I promise it will help out:

You must also allow your wallet to sync first, in order to solo mine.
However, You can mine on a pool whilst you aren’t synced and the coins will arrive later, as you sync with the block chain.
