Hi from West Mids, UK

Afternoon All,
Been looking at all this mining stuff on and off for a few moths now, as you can imagine like so many others when the BTC hit the news and the $1000 mark last week it prompted me to dig through all the old links I had saved and start reading again ;)
So spurred on by the re-found enthusiasm for the whole topic I have been mining on and off for a week on a high spec laptop I have for 3D drawing, and have managed to bag a few coins of both FTC and LTC.
Not overly fussed at the moment about making a fast pound (as I’m in the UK) out of it, more interested in learning about whats going on, whats out there how these things work etc…
Anyways, hopefully we will all get to have a chat and maybe a beer one day

Hi, I’m originally from Handsworth / Great Barr.
Nice to see UK members, a meet at Birmingham would be a first.
There has been a lot of work on the forum, please investigate the guides, then feel free to ask any questions in the correct forum section, for clarity.
Mining is an interesting but technical area, makes sure you read up as much as you can first. (Not like me and just blow up a couple of power supplies to learn my lessons)
You can check out the ftc blockchain explorer on forum / tools and also see who else is on the local feathercoin map .

Thanks for the welcome wrapper0feather :)
Not to far away from me that. Maybe when I get a bit more spare time i’ll set about trying to organise a meet in Birmingham, would be nice to give something back to the community 8)
I seam to have done nothing but read, and re-read for the last 2 weeks, but your right it’s better to go into these things armed with as much information as possible, or the parts bill alone starts to add up very quickly.
