Does anyone know a p2pool for Phoenixcoin (Resurrection)?
-
I was just looking at coins that were good to experiment on with CPU mining, before buying and setting up a rig.
I just noticed that Ghostlanders - Phoenixcoin Resurrection, is also going well, and the difficulty there is 1, so it would be still possible and CPU mine and grab a few of those coins, before the difficulty goes up.
Yes, that’s a great Pool, but it 97% of the network. It need wider distribution.
Also, you don’t have to register with p2pool so it is important some get set up, for where people can’t register and again to distribute the network.

why not solo mine?
-
The main problem with solo is, even these small coins difficulty is getting too high. Pools give instant feed back how your set-up is doing.
p2pool is easier for new miners, has no email registration and new miners can try it out quicker. I can see the charts / stats from anywhere in a browser, without login.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, but if you goto https://pxc.nut2pools.com you can see the stats without login/registration. Click on ‘pool’ under statistics in the left frame? -
That’s a (nutnuts) is a “central pool” not a “p2pool node”.
Without p2pool and solo miners the coin is centralised at big pools, which is a security hazard and known mode of failure.

I agree that a P2Pool for PXC would be good. I’ve run a P2Pool node for FTC before, what is required to run a P2Pool node when there are no others? If not much, I may have a look at setting one up.

Ok, if anyone is still interested in this, I’ve set up a test node for PXC P2Pool mining. It is currently the only node on the PXC P2Pool network, and I can see a few issues with the stats on the webpage, but it appears to be working with my puny 250Khash pointed at it.
If anyone fancies helping me test it, I need to generate a few blocks to check payouts, so feel free to point some hashes at http://95.85.32.214:19437
I will remove the 1% fee later this evening, and I cannot guarantee that everything will work exactly as it should, but you’d be helping to test the possible seed node of the PXC P2Pool!

Stefan
