The reason is this:
http://namecoin.info/

Such a shitty site for such an interesting coin.
Literaly user-hostile. Just try to find how to register a domain :)

Yup - when I first saw it I thought Namecoin was created in 2003.

Do they have a GUI yet? I gave up mid-download on the blockchain about 6 months ago. I figured anything that was that much trouble was never going to catch on.

Feathercoin site and community is waaaay better than that , If the price of a crypto-coin was set according to its site ,1 FTC would be worth 1 million dollars !

Maybe we’re looking at it the wrong way. Maybe try opening it with Netscape Navigator? ;D

Its a real shame, as there should be other coins. These guys thought they could do it all themselves, it takes something more than that to get crypto adopted.

There’s some good ideas in namecoin, I wasn’t inspired to try it and hasn’t been attacked by ASICs, like all the SHA256 coins?.

Maybe Kevlars project, including data in the blockchain, covers Namecoins use case generically anyway? Any coin can store an IP address layer.

Its so early on crypto history, “coin resurrection” has only just started, who knows what will happen with that…?
