[Solved] Cold Storage Wallet - what is a cold storage wallet?

Can someone please explain what cold storage mean and how I can do it. I have some confusions.
I have all of my FTCs on my laptop.
1.What exactly backup wallet does ?
2.if I backup my wallet and copy the backup file on a flash memory, will my wallet become empty ?
3.if someone steal my backup file , and load it to his wallet, my wallet becomes empty ?
4. In general how can I secure my wallet on a flash memory and put it on my safe ?
5. How can I transfer my wallet from one computer to other ? -

[/quote]- a back up is exactly that - a back up of your wallet. you can make as many backups as you want
- no, your wallet will be the same
- yes. If you encrypt your wallet he will need to know your password. if he doesnt then you will still have the funds
- you need to create a new wallet and send funds to that address. Then put the wallet.dat file on the usb and keep it safe.
- just install a new wallet on that computer, create an address then send the coins to it.
