      If you can, I think the best thing for the network is to simply mine and help process transactions.

      No merchant will accept a coin that takes hours to clear…

      I’m not gonna sit around for 30mins to wait for my transaction to clear so I can drink my cuppa!

        I think we’re ok there. Difficulty retargets REAL frequently to keep it at 2.5 minutes. Besides, there’s no need to wait for a confirmation assuming the transaction has appropriate miner fees.

          True that… Forgot about the fee… Though I didn’t realise that difficulty re-target time assisted in keeping transactions fast.

          (It’s what I think is the major barrier for retail acceptance of crypto’s. You need that transaction to clear within seconds or a few minuets)
