Undervolt Asus Matrix 280X on linux (in cgminer??)

Ok.
Dont wanna tamper with the bios. thought you didnt need to since they are supposedly unlocked.
Had no issue changing the volt on other cards in same rig/amd drivers. -
Be careful of rev 2 280x’s…seems like my rev 2 R9 280x by gigabyte are voltage locked as well.

as i mentoined bios is dangerous (but there is a good chance to blind-flash it if you crashed it).
if you are on linux, check which ADL is installed. :) (6.0 is the newest from AMD)

actually there is no command :)
so here are some questions:
1. you are operating your rig(s) in linux
2. you are compiling cgminer(?) by yourself
3. if 1 and 2 are yes which driver you have installed- Plopsi
PS: if you are driving with original Catalyst you could try to look into the Catalyst Control Center :) (if you have the Windowmanager open the terminal, command is “amdcccle”)

I undervolted my 6950, but had to modify the bios. The risk was relatively low, as the chard has a dual bios, and one always can switch to the default one, which is in ro-bios and can be activated with a switch on the card.Nevertheless, it’s a pain to boot windows just to change the settings, and as I run Linux only, I’ve WinXP only and that’s not stable with the Radeon 6950. I get hangs before I even have a chance to open the tools most of time.
Therefire I’m really looking for a way to change the voltage settings under Linux.

[/quote]My other cards i just set the voltage when starting cgminer, have worked like a charm.
However for the Asus 280X they are not voltage locked, BUT they have physical buttons on card for overvaulting, but to under volt you need to use software (TweakIt),
Which is kinda useless when you are on linux, and cgminer command does not work on them.Taking the cards out and flashing their bios is a non option, then ill just stick with the default voltage and use a bit more electricity.

A weird card. 3 slots?
Don’t think the buttons and switches on the card are compatible to any normal library on linux.
