This would explain why the difficulty did not go down as much as expected. They must have used a phenomenal amount of hash power. No doubt an old GPU Bitcoin miner who does not take kindly to alts :)

Frankly, if I had that much hashpower to waste and was an FTC hater, I could have come with much better than FTCsucks.
Almost tempted to announce on the trollbox that FTC blockchain has been comprised. Could do with a price crash to stock up on a few more FTCs.

[/quote]Hash power to generate longer addresses get exponentially harder. I think out sun would burn out before they generated a whole address on current hardware :)
Bitcoin based addresses are safe for a while yet.

[/quote]I know what you are saying. A couple of pools announced this kind option a head of time. I guess they wanted to attract people with a greater chance of getting a piece of the winning pot. If people were not happy they have the option to jump pools :)
