SNIP
And an extremely valid point raised by thep33t, sometimes in situations like this, it’s a very good idea to think outside of the box 8)
I am trying to find the exact calculation for it, but Rough back of the napkin calculation is that he wouild need to take one of the big BTC pools, and start mining the FTC Vanity address around the time Rome was founded to have any chance at all of coming up with that address.
LMAO! 8)

ohh, and that was using hashpower from BTCGuild (30TH/s) which I think is a little more than Nero could have his millions of slaves do on an abacus. -
Indeed. If someone can generate that vanity address then the Tor network should be worried. You can already GPU mine Tor vanity addresses, manage to pool resource and you can shave down the millennia required to produce a full address. I’ve not really looked into Tor address mining but I undertand they use 80-bit addresses in base 32 which would work out to 256-bit in base 10 I believe.
NICE!!! That was out of the 10 btc bounty?
-
Looks like they gave 1btc to the block finder and split the rest out between miners who contributed, fair way to do it :)

When did they start to send the rewards; I am minning there, and was minning with 1000+ k/hs during the 30.000 block and have not received anything…
I’d say so. I’m not sure how they are doing this, it could be a manual process so could have missed a payment or two. Anyway, the squeaky wheel gets the grease :)
It would be nice to see block 33,000 in the stats, where & why has it vanished?..I know it had 27,271 shares that’s about it.

It will be relative to the amount of valid shares you submitted and the difficulty as they use Vardiff. If you was mining for awhile before you would see a reward or you only just started your miner and did not generate enough shares to qualify for that round?
If your unsure its well worth an email but i would think its been calculated correctly? Check your transaction history and see if you have A transaction @ 19:42 this was time mine arrived.

In that case an email wouldn’t go amiss, or try the irc chat.
Was thinking the same, looks like the payout was very roughly 1 ftc per 10Khash, going by the payouts you & I received and our average hash rates. (note my miner is called spoodle)
Dont forget to check your transaction log in case you got paid and then got an auto payout to your ftc address.

I’ve noticed a few miners with better luck than others, I have no explaination for that (if anyone could hazard a guess they are more than welcome), but it has got me interested in solo mining, ;) I managed to nab block 32998 also, so close to the big one. :( I’ll pm my mining stats to you but there public knowledge in the mining section in any case.
