for now at least, $240 is better spent on a GPU that can get more than 240Khash. It’s good to know what’s coming though. I imagine the technology will evolve pretty quickly and could leave GPU mining in the dust.

If you break down the price, that’s very reasonable. I spent $2000 on a 1.8~2.0 MH/s rig for scrypt with conventional GPU tech that eats 750 watts of power.

His Scrypt Erupters cost exactly the same per KH/s, minus the electricity expenses so his technology is actually the same price in the short term and less expensive in the long term. Sign me up for 10. :)

Would also like to be contacted if you do a pre-sale on some of these.

Too bad these are not even that much better than an optimized gpu. I have pushed upwards of 4KHs/watt and I am sure if I took a high end card and really worked with it I could get within 20% of that FPGAs KH/watt ratio.

[/quote] okey so 1.75G x5 BTC mode 60k x5 scrypt mode. if its above 300$ is way to overpriced.

you could go whit 2x 7970 used around 175$ each and make around same profit.

Thanks for keeping us up on this. Is there any talk of volume orders? Is there a chance with your locality you might get hand on units quicker than the rest of us and be able to resell?

Wait what… Did you build that yourself by purchasing the chips or is this something all ready assembled available for purchase?

You’re forgetting this uses like 2 watts of power. Your 7970’s use 300 watts of power, and this technology is scalable. It’ll eventually be scaled into a data centre and then we can watch some of the scrypt coins enjoy the same growth as BTC.
