I want to welcome any and all new members to the feathercoin site and to the feathercoin experiment. Yes I said experiment, a giant, new and creative collective social experiment.
An experiment to find a way to take back our lives and our creativity and our “money”!

For it to work you will want to both; be aware of what it is, and understand how it works. Both of which you have begun to do by just joining the forum. For it to work you will also have to act. Bring your own creativity to the table and ask how you can make this a bigger and more successful experiment, if fact, how can you make it the next google or amazon size experiment? Geeks have created the structure and are expanding it every day, (bless their hearts) but most of them don’t speak the common tongue, and I for one don’t talk “geek-speak” so we all need them, and they all need us!

To further understand what crypto coins are, stay in the forums, keep searching the internet, dig through the mountains of crappy info and bring the gems back to this forum and post them. Don’t give up if it seems overwhelming, it isn’t! And when the light bulbs go off you will think just like I did, “Oh, I get it! Wow this is brilliant”.

It might seem like you will never get it, but as awareness spreads , understanding will no longer be manned at the front lines by the geek squad, there will be lots of common folks with generally great comprehension skills who can explain it in plain english. “Plain english”, now that is my american upbringing shinning through. You notice I didn’t capitalize “english” or “american”? It was intentional, to point out that this experiment is a world wide, no restriction human race experiment. One I am super glad to be apart of.

I am guessing you were drawn to this topic because your looking for something but really don’t know what. Trust me crypto currencies are a big part of that “what” and feathercoin is an incredible group version of that currency.

So now you have to post something in the Newbie section, before you can move on to other boards. The rules here are pretty common sense, don’t be rude or stupid. Try to play well with all of us and don’t be a drone, we need your creativity!
If you liked what I have written then post a little note and it will keep it at the top of the list for other people new to the forum to read, and it gets your “post something in the newbie section” requirement met in the same stroke.

I am not that old to the experiment, but am a very active learner and will be posting what I learn as I learn it.
I have installed the client, created a wallet, received coins (10ftc yay!) and listed an item for sale in the market. I will be moving on to assisting my family and friends to do the same so I can send them some feathercoins. I have also formed a Kansas City collective and we ordered our first mining rig components so will be updating how building a mining rig works, how to get it mining on a pool, what the result are, etc. We the collective hope to reduce our need for fiat (debt notes in our case) to the lowest possible point, while learning and building the infrastructure to replace it with feathercoins. I sincerely hope you will join me on this journey into what almost IS?

Being in the USA, I can relate to your desire of something better. Something that I had in the yesteryears.
If the founding fathers were to come back today, they would see a very different nation and world. And yes,
the inhabitants/citizens of the world need Feathercoin/crypto.
Imagine a world where everyone pays the same, gets the same value for labor, etc. All unregulated by any central
authority. We all love getting things on the “cheap”, but to do that, someone, someplace, gets less value.
Think of this. If all the world used Feathercoin/crypto, manufacturing and production would be localized primarily, because it would only make sense. Then, whatever goods and services could not be competitively produced and added into the local economy. Only then would imports be considered as an alternative.
oops, sorry. Got carried away. This is not the place for this discussion. But, thank you for your insight.

Now this is thinking! Yep I remember the days before Brenton Woods. And the game (read giant scam) still playing out is to big to cover in a single post. I will begin to post to the “off topic” section with some of those thoughts although truthfully nothing is “off topic” when it comes to feathercoin forum. Love the “= value localizing production and cutting the need for exports” idea (rep for that) , thanks so much for sharing that thought, not sure how long it would have taken my mind to find that one? lol What a fantastic time to be alive!
