Michele Seven Intro

Hello All!
Thanks Chris J for the introduction to Feathercoin. What a refreshing community concept to learn of after 6 months of BitcoinNYC meetups filled with Wall Streeters who fly a flag of “get rich at any cost”, waving it obnoxiously in everyone’s face.
Derrick J and I are teaming up with Charles Hoskinson who developed Invictus Innovations, if you are acquainted, for a little project of mine to target the 15-22 year-old demographic to hopefully shine a light toward liberation from the State. We’re calling it DISRUPTiv3…I’m sort of a shit disturber. Heh Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts on how Feathercoin is targeting youth, whether you think it crucial, and what needs of theirs Feathercoin addresses. Thanks in advance!
And for anyone interested in today’s Peace News Now show which has our chat with Chris, Feathercoin and the Altcoins Among Us - Peace News Now #57
I will do some research and have a lot of questions, I’m sure.
Cheers!
Michele
I also share pithy stories on Micheleseven.com Funny little diddy on Russell Brand with a link of him completely flummoxing the news anchors. The accent buys you so much leverage with the Yanks. :) -
Hey Michele, welcome to the forums!!
You had asked a question on the show that didn’t get answered, and I thought I might provide the answer now.
You said, “You can already embed data into the blockchain, so how is [Link] different?”.
Link is an open standard for embedding data into the blockchain. Yes, you can already do it now, all Link does it provide a standardized way for doing so which allows you to seperate the different sections of the data into semantic fields of data and meta-data. As a result, data that’s embedded in blockchains according to the Link standard can be easily parsed, indexed, and searched by users. Because the standard is open, anyone is free to implement it and start reading and publishing data into any blockchain that can be read later by anyone else following the same standard.
You can find more information about it here: http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php/topic,6518.0.html
Welcome again to the forums, and hope to see you around more!

Thank-you! Especially for following up to my question. Appreciated!
Re: “Link is an open standard for embedding data into the blockchain. I think that the embedding of data in the Blockchain is going to be what revolutionizes so much of what I think is wrong with the world as we know it. Shakespeare had it right about the lawyers and bankers…I relish the thought of doing away with patents, copywrites, and “legal” contracts and am thrilled at the potential for humankind. Very cool that Link has made it accessible and organized!
Best!

Hey Michele welcome to the feathercoin community.

Welcome M7! I’ve seen several 18-22 yo hanging around here, good luck!

Welcome Michele and thanks for asking interesting questions and having a great talk with Chris

Hi and welcome to Feathercoin
Just a bit of advice, I’m not sure if “sh*t disturber” shows Work and School compatibility especially with the your proposed demographic?.
The interview with Derrick J Freeman was great, we have a news section where members can post that information. I’ll post the link there for you.

Brilliant video, great interview with chrisj…

Well I am proposing that they don’t need to “work” or “go to school” so yes, that is a disruption to the system. Oops.
And I apologize if my sailor mouth offended you. I tend to be liberal where swearing is concerned. Things like force, fraud, aggression are what offend me. But, I do like to consider those around and will refrain from cursing here. Cheers!
Personally I think the ‘literate, intelligent female who can express herself passionately’ is a incredibly underrepresented demographic in this particular community. I’d be more offended if you censored yourself for the sake of not rocking the boat. We’re all about embracing change, and disruptive technologies are the order of the day in these parts. Your ideas of non-compatibility are more than welcome here.

Welcome! I really enjoyed whole show ;)

Lol Well, that boys, is an example of topping from the bottom. oO
And to you Chris, I was so stoked (California-speak for “excited”, “pumped”, “thrilled”) when you said, roughly, that, with this new protocol, there is a way to help people on the other side of the world. (Gross paraphrasing…) How fun to have the opportunity to help Alakanani Itireleng, the one-woman Bitcoiner in Botswana. The beauty of worldwide connection. http://motherboard.vice.com/blog/one-womans-quest-to-bring-bitcoin-to-botswana
I do imagine that I’ll eventually be contained for being a dissident. So if you spot a raft floating toward your way with a freak flag flying, bring me a cup of tea and a biscuit please.
Now must get back to my Feathercoin homework.
LOL, you get a rep for Cali-love!
Yeah, I just was reading about Alakanani, she’s got an uphill battle ahead of her, but with the right help, she’s perfectly positioned to usher in a whole new era of wealth and prosperity. I hope we hear more from her.
