[Solved] What does encrypting qt-wallet give? - Security

Hi,
I’ve transfered today FTC’s from my pool to my wallet. I’m trying to make it as safe as possible. I’ve encrypted my wallet using built-in qt funcionallity (used very long and random password). I’m not sure how does it works. What does it protect me from?At first, I though it works like that:
I encrypt my wallet and everytime I use it, I need to enter my long password in order for qt to encrypt it. This doesn’t work this way though. I can access my feathercoin wallet anytime without reentering password. I also tried replacing original wallet.dat with backup-wallet.dat but still, it didn’t require me to reenter the password.Therefore, I’m not sure whats the purpose of qt wallet encryption. It either doesn’t work the way I think it does or the password is stored somewhere on my PC and qt uses it everytime I run it (which wouldn’t be good because in case my pc get hacked, the password is on it).
I’m also thinking about downloading some outside encrypting software like TrueCrypt and make my wallet even safier, but before that, I’d like to know exactly, what’s the idea of qt encryption. Also, could some of you point me out the best method to store my own wallet safe?

It basically makes you type in the password every time you want to sent coins.
You can still open the software and see the balance, but every time you want to sent Feathercoins to anywhere you will need to enter the password.

Do you think this encryption is safe enough to hold my wallet at my e-mail?
Password is good enough not to be bruteforced unless hackers use some not yet existing quantum computer. -

I think you’ve got to treat it like cash, emailing your wallet is like sending a safe box with the money in. They could keep hammering that box, unless you spent it before they get in.
