Hi,

Its with regret that i have to inform everyone that invested in this project that is was a total scam from the start. I have had much communication with Shane @scryptcloud.com today - via email, regarding my refund and i would like to paste excerpts from that communication below:

“I invested all received bitcoins in the KnC 3Th/s bitcoin asic so
there is no way for me to refund you, and are you going to come over from Vancouver? My motorbike was purchased with the money I got from my 21st, there is no way you can take it either, you cannot do anything legally for bitcoin.”

"In the eyes of the law and in business I have done nothing wrong, you took a huge risk when investing in my project and now the project has failed and the money is all gone, there is no recourse for you.

You can talk all you like, it won’t change a thing

This is the last you will hear from me."

That being said i can assure the community i have 100% confirmed information as to Shane’s real name and real address. I also have much more evidence to prove this was a scam. For the sake of not breaking any rules of the forum or causing any problems for them, i choose not to post the information i have publicly for the moment.

I am appealing for everyone that has been ripped off by Shane @ scryptcloud.com to contact me as i intend to take immediate steps to recover our funds. If you are interested in having your funds recovered as a collective please send me the following information by PM:

Your full name:
Your Contact Telephone number:
Your Email Address:
Full details of what you paid for and evidence of your purchase from scryptcloud.com:

Once the information has been received i will make contact with you and fill you in on the details moving forward. The deadline to send me this information will be the morning of the 27th of January (sorry but time is of the essence here)

I can only say how saddened i am that this has happened - We can not allow scams like this to operate!

I look forward to hearing from you all

Regards

Haha, I beg to differ.

He’d better hope that he faces only legal action against him and people seeking restitution.

This is good because it helps keep the focus under control. Let those effected hash out what they want to see occur in order to keep everyone on the same page and as one unified front confronting him.

Now is not the time for Monday Morning Quarterback, either, but I gotta say, we have a lot of people that get excited about their farms and builds without commercial incentive so quick and eager to post pictures of when they pick up new equipment or have it dumped at their front door… to not get the same from someone who was building his wares through community involvement was a big red flag.

Best of luck for those that need help with recovery.

Even though it’s not cash it’s still an asset of yours and worth money. I’m sure some debt collection recovery agents maybe able to help.

This is such a shame, and is terrible for all those involved. It makes it even more difficult to build a solid business when scams like this are happening.

As a side note, I enquired how much he is selling the domain for, and 3BTC seemed a little high given the reputation its getting…

What I dont understand is the move to a .eu domain - it all seems a little pointless if he has no intention of fulfilling his promise, but then I saw a post from FTCLover asking how to install an operating system in december, so perhaps not the best person suited to building mining rigs.

As a side note, no matter how protected he thinks he is, he is still subject to the laws of his land. So even if he *thinks* there is nothing that can be done, fraud is fraud (irrespective of the currency) and he can be tried against EU law. If you have written confirmation that he has invested the coins in a KnC then I would urge those involved to look into http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embezzlement , whilst I am not a solicitor I am pretty sure this is what this comes under and is covered by EU law, punishable by prison sentence.

I have a UK solicitor that we use for our business would be happy to send off an email asking for some advice if anyone would like me too.
Embezzlement is the act of dishonestly withholding assets for the purpose of conversion (theft) of such assets by one or more individuals to whom such assets have been entrusted, to be held and/or used for other purposes.
Even if Bitcoins etc are not classed as ‘real’ currency, there is no way you could deny they are a ‘real’ asset, especially if he used them to *invest* something.

As an addendum, any of you that are posting in the scriptcloud technical problem thread, your TXIDs and how much BTC was sent and the like, it would behoove you, even though I’m sure it’s painful, to look up that BTC trading value at the time and day you sent it.

This way we can get a fiat amount to work with in case whoever represents you speaks with law enforcement.

Also, if you have confirmation of the above why not contact KnC - I’m sure they would be interested to know a product was purchased with illicit funds?

Usually I try to avoid regretting things.

However, I deeply regret offering this chap encouragement and kind words.

At 21 you’re supposed to become an adult. He sounds like a cocky a$$ clown.

What a croc!!!

I’m sorry to everyone affected. I’m personally going through a similar situation. People promise things they can’t deliver, have zero business plans, and think they can just walk away when they feel like it.

Currently working a small claims court issue, and thankfully an american express issue.

If anyone has used credit card to pay for any of these scams seek a chargeback!

Paypal i think has similar.

If you used dig currency, publish the addresses you sent them to, I’m certain there’s some smart minds out there that can track the money.

I just want to say thank you to mharrison79 for considering the forum and any legal implications in his making this information public.

I contacted him to discuss the ramifications for the forum of any personal information being posted in public, and he was extremely responsive and I am very glad that he took our points of view on board.

Thanks again mharrison, and I sincerely hope you are able to recover something from this situation.

Stefan

lol a clever chap this one.
Im guessing he is clinging to the illusion that it was a project that you invested in that failed and then the money was lost.

But as far as i know it was prepay of mining power, dissregarding risk of it.
I guess he never tried either (investing in gear etc)

So i guess we can call this a pure scam/fraud.
And luckily bitcoin is recognised as an asset/value and are treathed in that manner.

Anyone wanna file an police report on this?
I didnt invest (to many bells going off) and i dont live in the UK.
But ill gladly assist in any way. Maybe i can talk to KNCminer (swedish firm so i “speak” the correct language)

I was rather skeptical of this and I didn’t sent any payments to him until he have delivered the first batch to the buyers.

Lucky me. ??? but I hope you guys can recover what you lost.
