Can dogecoin be mined with bitcoin asic miners?

I was just wondering if since dogecoin is SHA-256 like bitcoin, can a bitcoin asic miner not be used to mine dogecoin? or other SHA-256 based cryptocurrencies for that matter??

Actually, I’d like to learn how to mine Gravycoin. I keep hearing a lot about it over on btc-e, and sounds like it’s to the moon. Can’t wait to trade in FTC for it.
