So just to confirm, this coin wallet has an address and privkey you generated?

Yes that is correct, and yes I understand there is a trust issue in that you do not know weather to trust me as I have seen the private key, all I can give you is my word, but to someone who doesn’t know me like yourself, that means diddly squat.
However I am currently working on a DIY coin/wallet which you will be able to assemble yourself and print out your own QR code address and private keys. :)

Please note all address and keys are printed on a offline computer, I do not keep records of addresses or keys so if you do happen to loose the information, coin/wallet then it is lost. :'(

Thank you for the info, honesty, and understanding the obvious concern.

The DIY kits make it a non-issue.

I would gladly give up half my rep to netnerd.

These coins are one of the greatest achievements to come out of the community.

                        That they are.

And I have THREE of them. I promised netnerd I’d stop buying them and give others a turn…

                        It’s awfully hard though, I want 0001

Is the notch in the back part of the manufacturing process or does it serve a purpose? :)

My understandings is that notch is so you can remove the back to access the private key so you can spend your coins.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong…?

Sounds right to me, a backup of the private key hidden away, the tab can be pulled off to reveal it (once, as it tears the plastic from what I gather)

I had to ask too ::)

That is correct when you pull it up the plastic will tear in a square, if you hold the coin in the light you can see the outline where it will rip, the address QR code sits directly on top of it. :)

So when does mass production start? I’m thinking we need a few hundred thousand of these being left all over the world for people to ‘find’ - would make a great viral campaign lol.

Idea #2: Hide a big one and do a treasure hunt ;D

we are having a second laser cutter identical to the one I already use, installed tomorrow so production will be much quicker. I will still be producing limited designs ;)

definately like the treasure hunt idea. :)

I am also thinking of running a competition for any budding artist of the community to submit designs, for a run of coins, winner voted by the community and winner gets edition 1 of that run, but I have not worked out the details yet :)
