What items would you buy with FTC?
-
I just bought some hair product from eBay and would have much rather spent it on the FTC market place.

Computer games … Consoles & accessories. Retro & modern :)

The latest tech, I’m a sucker for a new gadget :-\
I have a monthly tech budget, and I’ll admit at the moment that is going on GPU’s but I have promised myself no more (yeah right) and to get back into buying new gadgets so anything like that would do for me. Waiting for google glass to be realised as I really like the look of that, seeing what it can do then thinking of things to make it do 8)

Ok this is a good start, let’s see what we can come up with! :)
So, i’ve come up with this idea: “Items Request Section”. Simply put, you point an item you want to buy with FTC which isn’t in our market yet and you allow a few days to see if anyone can come up with said item. This could be a subsection of the marketplace in our forum. What do you guys think?
EDIT: Ok, the “Goods” subsection can be used for that purpose. Maybe we should try to widespread the use of WTB and WTS.

MP3s 8)

Nice to be having feedback!
Here is what I have come up so far:
https://feathercoinmarket.com/item.php?id=2560 - gadget for UM
https://feathercoinmarket.com/item.php?id=2554 - gamer mouse for new2crpyto
https://feathercoinmarket.com/item.php?id=2565 - stilish mp3’s for estrabdNow Ruthie, not my area there, but if you let me know which hair product you need, I can try to find it and list it in our market.
Also, I have been thinking in how to help our market, and I have decided to start an item request system (which I am adding to my signature). Basically i’m putting a small monthly FIAT into FTC, but instead of buying directly FTC I get the item you need and sell it through our market. But I’d like to hear from you if its a actually a good idea or if i’m missing a bad point here.

Not quite what I was thinking but nice try ;)
I also know someone who would like one of these, so when I’m back in front of a machine with a wallet later I will order 1 and he can have it as a birthday present!
This is great, I managed to find a mate a birthday gift without even looking :)
Thytos, it’s my mom’s birthday in a weeks time, what you got for me? perhaps you could add gift finder as a service

Computer Hardware

Glad you like it UM :)
As for your mom, I will look into it, let me know a bit more about her (age, hobbies or things she likes). You can send PM if you prefer.
The gift finder is indeed an interesting idea! And what do you think about this item request idea?
As for you Pyxis, were you looking for any particular hardware component?
Oh hehe thanks! I have a player. I was meaning a place that you could purchase and buy MP3s. I say this because recently I spent a long time doing this, and the site I found was a fair price but it would have been killer to get some credits via FTC.

Drugs…

Chilli seeds.
-
Sex toys.
Do you want specifics? I’m sure we can turn this thread a very off color with a frank discussion of the different options available.
Oh yeah, and drugs too.
-
Heh… I think sex toys are already listed in our market… and i’m not sure if that’s this items we want our market to be known for :)
-
I like the MP3 idea - like leagal sounds used or mp3million. Basically it’s a cheap item that would get people into FTC - maybe convince one of those sites to use it? Who wouldn’t buy an mp3 for 1.99 FTC? Digital goods would be a good target. If we don’t want to build/run our own digital goods site, then maybe convince one of the many to use FTC. Who’s in charge of lobbying online market places to use FTC?
-
Usually chrisj is in charge of these things but its better if we all take ownership of this. I’m going to go round a few of my local shops with the mechant getting started flyer that was created. If you can start a campaign to send emails etc I’m sure everyone will get on board. Its a self service revolution :)
Well why not? Crypto-currencies are a revolution started by the people to take back control of our value and wrestle it from the hands of corporate oppressors. It takes a pretty liberally oriented person to say, “I want to ditch the status quo and start over with my financial system, throwing off the shackles of my government and reclaiming my wealth while embracing anarchy and giving the finger to the 1%.”
I don’t exactly think it’s then a big leap to then say, “And I also want my markets to have a wide diversity of products available and be free from censorship and personal judgement, especially from people who are embarrassed by their bodies and their natural functions and would rather hide away our sexuality and not embrace and celebrate it, which is one of the most defining aspects of being uniquely human.”

Just purchased my 1st item off the market place, in the words of a stationary supplier here in the UK
“That was easy”
Ahem. Okay, this stems from a conversation on Reddit about how much BTC I had and I was lamenting that I was pretty much starting from scratch having spent nearly all of it and people were like “oh yeah, real brilliant, admitting to buying drugs” yadda yadda and I was like “Hm.” because the reality was less illegal and more embarrassing.
My first physical product purchase on Bitmit, the thing that pulled me into crypto in the first place, was the concept that I could buy something, without having my name on it, drop it on someone else to hold for me, without using yet another someone else’s credit card and putting a particular company’s name or attaching what product it was that was bought with it, tipping them off as to what it was/is because there would’ve been huge objections in my household at the time as to me possessing it. And there’s no way I could both safely and legally acquire said object in the physical world without tipping someone off. Nor want to acquire it second-hand through a local meet up. Like Craigslist or something. Ew. No. No thanks.
We clear on context? Okay, good.
Point is, it’s what proved crypto’s value to me and everything else has pretty much cascaded and domino’d from there. So don’t write that stuff off or worry about the “known for” argument; whatever you can do to get someone’s foot in the door and let them make the decisions for themselves is what matters.
