Hi bought some FTC few weeks back at 0.0002 BTC when BTC was around $450. Usually Alt rises when BTC rises, but this time it is really other way around and frightening.

Please enlighten me about FTC’s future.

By the by, this is my first post and happy to be a member of FeatherCoin. I heard a lot about the community. How is the community doing now?

Hi featherking and welcome to the community. Your right about the price of Feathercoin its been slowley falling for a few weeks now. But I believe that’s due to a few factors one being multipool strip mining and dumping which scare off the miners and put pressure on price. Second is the scrypt ASIC invasion which is underway this is again scarring GPU miners off to different algos.

A fork was released a couple of weeks ago to help defend against the multi pools and we are working on a replacement algorithm called NeoScrypt which will defend against the ASICs and allow us to start being proactive rather than reactive.

On the community side things are good but as always when the price drops people worry and some even dump all their holdings which then contributes to the price going down. We have been through this a few times before and things will turn around or at least stabilise I’m sure. :)
