[Solved] Wow lost my feathercoin (i think)
-
yes i am running the latest ftc wallet on android, and it sends to cryptsy just fine, just not to the windows laptop, sooooo for the past 1.5 hours i’ve been installing the feathercoin 8.7 wallet on mint and imported my wallet there and re-sync’ing
-
the windows laptop is running v0.8.7.0-beta-qr
it not receiving any coins at all…
wallet is locked btw
-
32 weeks behind and still sync’ing lol
-
Mhh, to be honest, that does not look good. :(
There has been an update to the Android wallet lately, are you running on version 3.01 on your phone and can send FTC to other addresses, e.g. an exchanges wallet?
2nd: does your laptop wallet show the address you sent the FTC to in the address list under ‘receive coins’?
If no to 2nd: do you have a backup of your private keys on your laptop?
phone sends fine…
win32 wallet not receiving, using the linux wallet to debug better and see if its a glitch in the blockchain
and 2nd yes
-
BTW, the linux wallet v0.8.7.0 syncs up to June then ignores all transactions after that. So I’m out 5k in ftc? And no one has an answer here?
Lol
-
Sorry to hear you are having problems. That (resync) should have worked although it can take a while…
Did you resync from scratch?
First of all do this and report back:
in help open debug console, type
addnode p2pool.neoscrypt.de:9336 onetry
addnode pool20.neoscrypt.de:9336 onetry
you can then type getpeerinfo in the console to check you are connected to the “right network”
I see your on LInux. I’m a bit tied up but will try to help.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
**Depending on what that console shows : **
There are other instructions around if you are not Ok with this procedure.
You need at least to get a full download of the block chain. I would back up your hidden .feathercoin directory. Delete (or rename ) the block directories, but retain your wallet. Update Feathercoin to the latest at
https://software.opensuse.org/package/feathercoin
or compile from https://github.com/FeatherCoin/Feathercoin
Resync the wallet from scratch after adding the addnodes again.

Lol
v0.8.7.0 is the last but one version.
current version on github as well as for the linux installation packes on http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/wellenreiter01/ (it’s the same repository Wrapper referred to)
are on 0.8.7.1 now.If the sync hangs after the update, normally it helps to close and re-open the wallet.
This problems exists since a long time and for many coins and it is related to the strcuture of the sync process, where invalid peer nodes can cause temporary hangs. Most of time the sync recovers after some time, if that is not tha case close /open wallet helped always
-
K I’ll purge my install and reinstall then import the wallet and re sync fresh
-
i did a scratch resync the other day, thinking is was the block chain…
it wasn’t
then removed the reinstalled a fresh install on win32 of the wallet and resync’d again… no change.
moved over to linux (desktop) installed the wallet there (not easy, lol) and resync’d there, same no change… each time importing the wallet.
just did the addnodes and the results are
20:03:08

getpeerinfo

this is on the win32 laptop wallet, i’ll move over to the desktop in a few and see what i get there.
-
the android wallet is driving me apeshit with the way it takes forever to sync, in 5 minutes i go from 1k to 5k (finally catching up) then its stalled again for another 5 hours…
-
I just got your message, which was sent 1 am my time. From your GetPeerinfo I suspect you are not attaching to the right network and have attached to some old wallets.
All is not quite lost yet. Did you update to 0.8.7.1 and resync the block chain? If you back up the other stuff, there should be no “problem”, in trying this. I note you were not able to connect to our pool’s servers.
We will continue to help try to recover your situation, so, I will be interested to see what Wellenreiter thinks of your Getpeerinfo (when he gets on). We might know more then how hopeless it is.
Wrapper.

I think the important thing to know here is that your coins do exist in the block Chain for your address and you do have the private key so no coins should be lost. Its just a matter of fixing your wallet issues. :)
-
Ahhh k, I’ll fight with it when I get back home… Btw can I import the android wallet into the desktop wallet if need be?
Would rather have it on a stable connection for syncing and moving all the ftc around.
Also the desktop wallet uses 1.54 is there a more generic source around qt-creator just drops a ton of errors the last time I tried to compile the project.
(That’s where the fight comes in)
-
yes I think so, your wallet backup should contain the private key, but the file will be encrypted as part of the backup process, using your android wallet passphrase, it would just be a case of unencrypting the file I’d think?
-
like he said they’re on the blockchain so its good, i just need to get these wallets fixed, lol… and linux is not being kind.
(same shit different decade. i’ve never had luck compiling in linux, lol)
-
Maybe if we ask nicely lizhi might compile a windows version of the new 8.7.1 wallet :)
-
nah it was the crafty -iGL option lol
ok compiled to the latest version of feathercoin wallet still nothing going to do a fresh sync with a blank wallet and then import my old wallet in using public and private keys, if not no sweat i can make up the 5k
-
the other thing, when i check my ftc address on the blockchain it says one address while other sites report it as a totally different address (i said in my first post)
-
still a no go on the win32 wallet
-
Longshot, but when you installed the windows wallet, did you run it as administrator to install it? The reason I ask, is because the roaming folder has a folder per user and when first ran, it’s possibly the administrator wallet you first see. If you right click the feathercoin icon and run as administrator you will see another wallet, could this be the missing one perhaps?
