[Solved] Wow lost my feathercoin (i think)
-
i did a scratch resync the other day, thinking is was the block chain…
it wasn’t
then removed the reinstalled a fresh install on win32 of the wallet and resync’d again… no change.
moved over to linux (desktop) installed the wallet there (not easy, lol) and resync’d there, same no change… each time importing the wallet.
just did the addnodes and the results are

this is on the win32 laptop wallet, i’ll move over to the desktop in a few and see what i get there.
-
the android wallet is driving me apeshit with the way it takes forever to sync, in 5 minutes i go from 1k to 5k (finally catching up) then its stalled again for another 5 hours…
-
I just got your message, which was sent 1 am my time. From your GetPeerinfo I suspect you are not attaching to the right network and have attached to some old wallets.
All is not quite lost yet. Did you update to 0.8.7.1 and resync the block chain? If you back up the other stuff, there should be no “problem”, in trying this. I note you were not able to connect to our pool’s servers.
We will continue to help try to recover your situation, so, I will be interested to see what Wellenreiter thinks of your Getpeerinfo (when he gets on). We might know more then how hopeless it is.
Wrapper.

I think the important thing to know here is that your coins do exist in the block Chain for your address and you do have the private key so no coins should be lost. Its just a matter of fixing your wallet issues. :)
-
Ahhh k, I’ll fight with it when I get back home… Btw can I import the android wallet into the desktop wallet if need be?
Would rather have it on a stable connection for syncing and moving all the ftc around.
Also the desktop wallet uses 1.54 is there a more generic source around qt-creator just drops a ton of errors the last time I tried to compile the project.
(That’s where the fight comes in)
-
yes I think so, your wallet backup should contain the private key, but the file will be encrypted as part of the backup process, using your android wallet passphrase, it would just be a case of unencrypting the file I’d think?
-
like he said they’re on the blockchain so its good, i just need to get these wallets fixed, lol… and linux is not being kind.
(same shit different decade. i’ve never had luck compiling in linux, lol)
-
Maybe if we ask nicely lizhi might compile a windows version of the new 8.7.1 wallet :)
-
nah it was the crafty -iGL option lol
ok compiled to the latest version of feathercoin wallet still nothing going to do a fresh sync with a blank wallet and then import my old wallet in using public and private keys, if not no sweat i can make up the 5k
-
the other thing, when i check my ftc address on the blockchain it says one address while other sites report it as a totally different address (i said in my first post)
-
still a no go on the win32 wallet
-
Longshot, but when you installed the windows wallet, did you run it as administrator to install it? The reason I ask, is because the roaming folder has a folder per user and when first ran, it’s possibly the administrator wallet you first see. If you right click the feathercoin icon and run as administrator you will see another wallet, could this be the missing one perhaps?
-
no its under my login, i’ve sent 10ftc and 1 ftc after the resync nothing came through… there is no folder under the administrator account.
i’ve done the usual uninstall/reinstall, sync the wallet, import the wallet… its locked (i know, because when i started mining ftc back in january i locked it, lol)
and no love on my linux desktop crashed when i was dicking around inside with the libs (i’ve done this enough in 15 22 years (now) to know how to fix it, lol)
i’ll work on that when i get back home today, its laundry day! and with 15 hour over time days this week i’ll need the clothes.
is there a new release with 8.7.1?
the cell phone wallet is sync’ing, choking and crashing (been sending reports back every time), soooooooo i’ll probably wait till next sunday to tackle this again.

-
maybe its the big bank neo scrypt?
is that in the wallet yet?
-
Where are you based blackross?
And can you post the public address you expected coins to be in just so we can check it really is on the block chain. We have noticed there may be a fork of users using the old wallet which maybe what you are syncing to on your phone and desktop wallet.
Which may be why you are not seeing the coins. But if your seeing the coins at http://explorer.Feathercoin.com then you can rest easy. But its not good. We really need to sort this out. I think we need to bring in bush here as its pretty serious!
-
Well i thought I posted everything in the original post
-
Weird
http://explorer.feathercoin.com/address/72tfH9s3ABE319GtsKCP4Z66x1j6eT8vZk
https://bitinfocharts.com/feathercoin/address/72tfH9s3ABE319GtsKCP4Z66x1j6eT8vZk
why is there 2 different balances?
-
it seems, that bitcoininfocharts does not show the correct address.
There is at least one other report, that the addresses in the browser address line and the one shown on the web page are different.
-
I’ve been mining with asic since January, then neoscrypt comes out because of the gpu miners that dumped all that money into their hardware… and now I have wallets issues. was there a conversion? I know wallets get updated. That’s life… I don’t watch block counts, I leave the miners run on rotation with easiest difficulty, drive 80 miles a day to work and back 5am to 6pm (with traffic). I just expect it work… it’s now on worldcoin since the ftc pool is throwing wild ass loads of rejects, my minera was just hijacked friday for some reason and locked that down and now this.
I don’t know the details of how it works, all I know is… I sync my wallet(s), coins come in, they confirm, I send to cryptsy (after entering my passcode), trade for bitcoin (profit!).
It’s sync’d up at home, last transaction I see there was from when I fired up my ant miner and mined from fcpool last year as a test… yes I see my address on the block chain in two different areas, feathercoin explorer (which I hope), and bitinfocharts (which I’ve never had issues with till now).
Desktop is still not working yet, haven’t been home to fix it yet.
And that is where I am right now.
Like I said I will probably pick this up next Sunday.
-
Then I will drop bitinfocharts
