Also shouldn’t we open a new thread as the discussion becomes quite technical and doesn’t really fit to the topic?

It seems that there has been a shameful bug in NVML wich prevents nvidia-smi from getting the information:

        https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/543446/-solved-when-will-nvidia-fix-nvidia-smi-a-/

There is a C code as a workround. It needs to be tested though:

        https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/560248/system-management-and-monitoring-nvml-/bug-nvml-incorrectly-detects-certain-gpus-as-unsupported-/

        https://github.com/CFSworks/nvml_fix

Linux geeks know Nvidia as the best vendor for their support for Linux. How could this even be possible?!

Something else: Can nvidia-settings be run in a terminal configured to show some outputs? Can we get any info in a terminal from it?

I just posted this and saw that you had already replied. I agree with posting a new thread.

Is there any update on this? Has anybody compiled the code and tested it successfully?
