Help req - New solo miner setup
-
Hey whats up guys, I’d like to start mining some feathercoins but I need help and have questions about getting setup.
I have my feather wallet setup and fully up to date with a .conf file with the following:
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.1.157
rpcallowip=192.168.1.*
rpcport=9337
server=1I wasn’t sure if I needed to add my computers IP or the local host IP so I added both and a 3rd allow exception for any local IP just in-case.
I’d like to use multiminer as my mining software but I’ve also downloaded nsgminer.
Has anyone used multiminer to mine Feather or any other Scrypt coins solo? What should the pool settings look like?
If I use nsgminer how would I even set it up for solo mining?
Also are there any special steps I need take to make sure my miner software is able to connect to the wallet software? Windows firewalls Exceptions/Router ports opened/ect…
Let me know if more information is needed.

Hello dpadster,
First of all welcome to the forum :)
I suggest, that you post your question again in the mining section, as more peope will see it there.
I noticed, that you talk about scrypt mining.
Feathercoin is using the neoscrypt algorithm, which is different to scryt, so if you set you miner to scrypt mining it can’t work -
Hi and Welcome, NSGminer does not do multicoins, so you have to stick to neoscrypt coins. Should be straight forward to solo mine.
