Newbie post - Bittrex FTC Wallet Status
-
@tarobrand I found this link while reading the following information about wallets under maintenance on the Bittrex website. https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000233911-What-does-it-mean-when-a-wallet-is-in-maintenance-

Can a Bitrex user open a ticket? So we can find out whats going on?
-
I’ve raised a ticket, but so far only had a generic reply, will update if I hear more.
Please check https://www.bittrex.com/status for the status of a wallet. Once the wallet is back online, if you are still having any issues please reply to this email and let us know.
Wallet maintenance implies one of several possible things could be happening:
There could be a possible fork on the block chain. In order to protect funds, we have disabled the wallet until a consensus has been made on which chain is the proper chain.
The wallet has been updated by the developer and the exchange is in the process of implementing the wallet update.
The wallet daemon on our server has hung or crashed.
The wallet is sending orphan transactions or having an issue that requires the developer to work with us on resolving.
There are other scenarios that cause a wallet to be disabled. In general, the wallet is disabled to prevent users attempting to deposit or withdraw to a wallet that may not be functioning properly. We are always actively working to bring wallets in maintenance back online as quickly as possible.
I deposited coins while the market was offline, will they be credited?
As long as your deposit was on the proper block chain and it’s transaction id can be found on the official explorer your coins should credit when the wallet is turned back on.Can I trade when a wallet is disabled?
In most cases you can continue trading if wallet is disabled. If there is an issue that would cause trading concerns, we would turn off the market.Thank you,
Your Bittrex Support Team

@PhenomenonOne I received the same canned response. Don’t expect anything more for a while, though. Last time I had issues it took days inbetween replies from them…

Wallet fixed!

Thanks for all who helped, still wonder what was up? was it no FTC funds to sell?
-
Sweet, wallet back online - waiting for FTC hashers to redirect their hashpower back to FTC mining pool. ;) Thanks for the heads up. Looks like FTC satoshi is bottoming out on Bittrex since their FTC wallets went offline. So now I’m picked up the low hanging fruit. ;)

They suggested it was wallet maintenance and didn’t really go into details. I’m inclined to believe them though. In any case, it’s good to be back.

Last word from them, to put this to bed:
"Julian Yap (Bittrex Support)
Sep 12, 17:13 PDTWallets can go into maintenance from time to time."
Well I guess. Could always be that the daemon spit the bit for whatever reason, and they had to catch up the blocks, but why not just say that? Sheesh…

I run multiple daemons on a single machine but thinking about this on a much larger scale, Bittrex has tons of coins and needs a daemon for each so they probably run multiple systems, if not separate servers for each daemon for better security. It could be something like the server crashed or had an issue, not necessarily the daemon itself.
