Cudaminer vs NSGminer
-
Hey all.
So with all the wallet drama still not been fixed, i have started mining and just not transferred any coins…
Im finding my little gtx780 somewhat… lacking! As others mention everywhere on the internet even Xeons suck at mining (52khs)
The 780 is getting around 200-260khs using NSG, would i find that improves by using cuda or is the gain if any not worth the time to research setting it up?Or is there ways to improve NSG for an older card?
Thanks

I have not tried nsgminer, but my understanding is that it uses OpenCL API. I bet ccminer is faster, since it’s native CUDA, but I could be wrong.

I think, @taurus is right.
As Cudaminer avoids using OpenCl, it has less overhead to deal with.
-
So you guys would advise using CCminer for an Nvidia card over them both? If that’s the case i will try setup and try CCminer this evening
-
Any recommends on which CCminer to use? There is 100’s of them and i can not find a youtube video to the ones i seem to be downloading… most of the links on youtube are to lists of files that i have no idea how to setup/use.

if your links point to github, you need to download a zip file and compile the sources contained yourself.
If you are not familiar with compiling, you could try to contact this Guy:
He is the owner of the Cudaminer repository and normally very responsive.

They do point to github…
I will see if i can youtube PHD it before i hassle the developer!
Thanks :)

I can not get the settings to work, spent too much time on it so will stick to what i know works for the moment and come back to it.

Im using cudaminer from here…
Can someone explain to me what i need to place in the launch file to get this to work with a single 780? whatever i did, it opened some stuff then closed or just opened then closed.
i deleted the program in rage and haven’t done anything with it since…
