How do I retrieve my lost wallet? I still have my password

Does anybody knows how to retrieve a lost Feathercoin wallet? I lost my FC address but still have my password.

Can you tell a bit more what happened?

which Operating system do you have
did you delete your wallet software or was the wallet damaged?
anything else that happened to your wallet.

I lost my wallet software due to disk crash
Nothing else happened to my wallet

You will need to use testdisk or photorec to fix the disk enough to recover your wallet.dat. This is a long and process, only worth doing if you have a lot and may not work.

when you say “disk crash” did the entire hard drive fail ? did you have it replaced or wiped ? we need as information as detailed as possible.
when you say “you still have your password” was this the password to the wallet.dat file? or do you mean your Private Keys ?

@AcidD I had a chat with @Arnie

He had a disk crash and therefore had to replace the disc.
Nevertheless he found a wallet.dat file from the old disk somewhere and I told him to place it under ~user/.feathercoin and then start the wallet.
Hopefully this will recover his addresses and priv keys.
@AcidD : Arnie is on MAC. I hope the directory I told him was the right one

LESSON TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE NEW TO THIS STUFF*

Get in the habit of regularly backing up all of your crypto and crypto related accessories (ESPECIALLY your wallet.dat file) onto a usb stick!!! Depending on your level of involvement, it may be a good idea to encrypt these files as well.

Cryptocurrency can be a lucrative asset, but it comes with great responsibility!

This was the location for Bitcoin 0.8X and other 0.8X coins

0.9 + on MacOS puts the wallet.dat + block files here

~/Library/Application Support/Feathercoin/

Thank you very much for your support. I can stick my hand into my wallet again😉.
Followed the instructions for the wallet.dat file and vòila!

i actually have a CD with a wallet backup on it seemed sensible. (on top of the usb backups and the like.) I keep the CD safe.
