      Hi all,
I am new here and need to post in that forum, so I do. I already got a question:
I bought some Feathercoins and printed them on a paper wallet, just because I was curious. Now I have no idea how to get them back into my desktop wallet. The key is very hard to read and I can’t scan the code with my PC, any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello. Sorry for the late reply.

If the key is hard to read…you have a QR code on your paper wallet that can be read with any QR Code reader.

Have you attempted this yet ?

          Welcome to the forum. :D

As hard as it is you need to read and write down the key for later use or type directly into your pc.

Here is how you can import your key (and the wallet address) to your pc.

          1. download and install the latest wallet on your pc, if you didn’t do that already
          2. start the wallet gui
          3. go to ‘settings’ -> ‘debug window’ -> ‘console’
          4. type ‘import privkey <the private key from the paper wallet> rescan’

This should import the key and address from you paper wallet and scan the whole blockchain again for transactions involving that address.

After a while you should see the coins.

@haeckipateng After printing the paper wallet, did you delete the FTC wallet from your computer? Did you do anything such as a restore of your computer, or a format of the hard drive?

Hey guys, many thanks for your replies! I figured out that I can scan the Code to retrieve the address, but was not sure how to import the private key. I will try it your way with a new paper wallet and a small amount, thank you!

@haeckipateng said in New here and already a stupid question :-):

I can scan the Code to retrieve the address

You mean, that the address shows up in the online wallet after you scanned the qr code of the paper wallet?

Then you private key is imported into the online wallet and all should be fine.
If you can see the address in the online wallet, but no coins shown, stop the wallet and start it with the --rescan parameter. It then scans the blockchain for coins belonging to your adresses again
