Hey everyone, I’ve been a fan of Feathercoin since 2013, sold all my bitcoins for a bunch of feathercoins and also mined some with my rigs. Still hold these coins as I have great faith in the technology and speed of this coin.
I also read this forum regularly but never had the need to sign up and be an active member… until now.

I came to be a part of a startup in the real-estate world. We have a platform for real estate developers looking to sell new homes, and for people who wish to buy new homes. The platform allows all sides of the transaction to save a bunch of time, money and bureaucracy by putting all the paperwork and resources in one easy-to-use website/app. The platform is in advanced alpha stages, and now the owners are thinking to shift the entire thing and implement it on a blockchain.

I’m not savvy as i’d like to be on the matter, so please excuse my lack of knowledge if I sound like i’m talking nonsense or am completely misguided.
From what i’ve read, we can use etherium to build our platform on, but i’ve also read that it is very buggy and can cause huge problems if not implemented perfectly to start with (which is impossible since we’re all humans).
My question is - is it possible to use feathercoin for smart contracts and for such a system? If not, will there be a possibility in the near future? I would be happy to base our platform on a fast and reliable infrastructure like feathercoin, get an ICO to fund this project and start some pilots in selected cities in the US.

I would love to hear your opinions on the matter, your insight, your suggestions and any input at all would be most welcome. Anything that can contribute to my knowledge on the matter and would help me make a good and educated decisions towards the right blockchain solution.
And also - feathercoin rocks and I love you all :P

      Cheers!

        Hello @legojesus

First of all wellcome to the ‘writing side’ of the forum :D

You are right, there is much more possible on block chains than ‘just’ circulating coins.

Smart contracts are in discussion for Feathercoin for some time now, and we are on the path to get smart contracts implemented, but that will not be done in a short time.
All developers work on their free time and -with rare exceptions- totally unpaid.

What is the time window your company has in mind to implement payment based on smart contracts?

            @wellenreiter Thank you!
I know that development is voluntary and always appreciated people behind open-sourced projects like crypto coins.

Right now we are exploring the possibilities of blockchain solutions and how can our system be implemented on one. Once we get ourselves a possible solution that sounds safe, secure and fast, we will write a white paper, get some strong companies and individuals from the field to back us up and start an ICO.

I think the whole process will take approximately 6 months or so, but as far as I understand we will have to choose a blockchain infrastructure before the white paper, which has to be pretty soon.
If you already have some form of a technical document of the smart-contracts on the feathercoin blockchain, even if it’s just theoretical at the moment, I might be able to use that for now.

I would really love putting Feathercoin on the map and get it some spotlight with something as attractive as a real-estate project with an ICO. (Also, we actually have a product, unlike 99% of the ICO’s i’ve seen so far, don’t get why no company came through yet).

Thank you for your kind words and reply!
