      Dear all,

1st of all, congratulations for the fine project FeatherCoin. I was fascinated by several of its ideas, and now found the time to take a look at its code.

Since I’m a developer, I’m first trying to learn the code, before going to mining or trading.

I look forward to learn more about N-Scrypt and other interesting ideas present in FeatherCoin.

      All the best,
      Hilton

            Hello, @acidd !

            Thanks for your kind welcome.

I’ve coded C and C++ for quite a long time, and now I’m getting my feet wet with Java and Python.

I’ve downloaded FeatherCoin from git and compiled it. Since I found some warnings with my gcc 6.3.0 compiler, I’ve tried to eliminate their causes.

How do I talk with the developers about my attempts at understanding FeatherCoin code ?

I would like very much to contribute to this interesting project.

            All the best,
            Hilton

@hgfernan the best way to contact the developers is via the forums here.

All the devs are here and I would say the forums are the center hub of the community.

It is good to hear that, @acidd !

I supposed that the devs were in a different forum, where you could only get after being a more experienced user.

As a newbie, I still can’t read the roadmap session. So, please forgive my misinformed questions. I’m intending to enter the crypto-coin world by following the road of software development, instead of the usual mining way.

I’ve downloaded the git version of the FeatherCoin software from GitHub and played a little with it. My intention was to eliminate the compiler warnings it raised when compiled under the gcc 6.3.0 that I use here. And I’ve really done that.

So, my question is: would my patches to a few files interest the developers ? Probably that’s already being done somewhere. Another one is: where do I find a testbed to run my attempt of a version against ? Of course, I would like to contribute to that testbed effort, since it would benefit all development effort.

                  All the best,
                  Hilton

                      Hi, @wellenreiter !

Thanks for the information. I will review my patches and prepare them in a convenient way for the pull request in the standard of the FeatherCoin dev team.

                      A great weekend for all.

                      Best regards,
