What IS difficulty?
-
I understand the concept of the Blockchain. I understand the concept of POW. What i am not sure about is the real meaning of difficulty on the Bits. From what I gather: higher dif->more leading 0 in the Hash. How many 0 does a Hash has to have with a Dif of let’s say 100. Certainly not 100 Zeros, right?

Dfficulty : Is just how likely the answer of the POW equation is to be found, more 0’s means there is less space to search for the answer in, so it is Less Difficulty (or it’s easier equation to solve).

Thanks for the reply. That’s how far i understood it. So this means that there is a scale from 1-X? Is there a maximum difficulty? How difficult would it be to have a Hash with ALL 0? -
This link explains it ;-) http://bfy.tw/FaJ4
Difficulty is a measure of how difficult it is to find a hash below a given target.
The Feathercoin network has a global block difficulty. Valid blocks must have a hash below this target. Mining pools also have a pool-specific share difficulty setting a lower limit for shares.
