They each have pros and cons. One thing I dont like about p2pool is the tiny payments you endup with. You get paid more often for “solo” mining which is great but I feel you get paid too often. Adjusting your difficulty helps but only so much. On the flip side, you can be in control of your own pool if you set it up yourself.

@Amph the pool list contains only public pools, which need to allow connections from the Intrernet. Probably there are some private pools, or pools that are not beeing advertized or detected by other software.

Feathercoin used to use Scrypt which is what the gridseed miners can hash. Feathercoin later switched to the NeoScrypt algro which is not able to run on those miners. At this time only GPUs and CPUs can mine it.

I’d estimate an R9 290x would be about double that of a new R7 370 (which I have), both are GCN1.0 (pitcairn/tahiti) gpu’s. The R7-370 does ~280KH/s (nsgminer), so probably 600KH/s on an R9 280x would be likely based on single precision GFLOP specs.

I’m running a pair of MSI R7 370’s and get better rates from nsgminer (~280 per), though you have to be more careful of overdoing it with intensity settings & heat than sgminer. I run the 15.x crimson driver on win7, so can’t help with win10, and don’t know if the 16.x drivers are ok or worse with neoscrypt like they are with ethereum ethash on any win version.

I’m also running a pair of EVGA GTX970’s with the djm neoscrypt miner, and get 650 per card without pushing them, 700+ if I do.

Wondering if there was some news I missed, or if last week’s price spike was just a random p&d?
