Thanks to everyone I’ve been able to downgrade.

AFAIR Myriad struggled to keep all 5 algorithms balanced and set SHA-256d and Scrypt to merge mining eventually.

FTC makes use of BLAKE2s already as a part of NeoScrypt. If I wanted it a simple way, I could just use BLAKE2s two years ago. However it isn’t ASIC resistant. Neither Groestl nor Keccak.

did you do the autogen.sh and the configure steps, and did they finnish without errors?

Important: are you trying to compile 0.8.7.3 or 0.9.3.1?

The process I described is for 0.9.3.1

For 0.8.7.3 do this:

cd src make -f Makefile.unix

This will compile the daemon

I need to check for the GUI, but again the description how to do it should be either in README.md or in the /doc directory

Also it is open source, and everybody can develop his/her on client, or modify the code of an existing client to cause problems with the block chain.

There is no official release of any 0.11.X. All 0.11.x versions should be deemed as Alpha or Beta versions and handled with care. Currently I won’t recommend these for any mining or exchange related usage.

Correct, if you transfer coins sender and receiver must be on the same chain.

Basically you can check by the block count of your client. The 0.9.x chain, as Ghostlander named it, is ~500+ blocks ahead of the chain where all 0.8.7 clients reside
On the other hand, there are 0.9.x clients on the chain, where the 0.8.7 clients reside, so the client version as shown by the feathercoind getpeerinfo or the gui console command getpeerinfo is an indicator but no proove, that a client is on the chain of the 0.8.7 cients

Correct!! Wallet 0.11.2 is not fully tested. and the recommendation is to up/downgrade all wallets to 0.9.3, which is the last release version on github.
